Wine is my topic!
Following on my stations as head sommelière in various top-class restaurants in Germany and Spain I set up my own business in 2011. Naturally I have remained faithful to my great passion - wine. Today I work as a consultant and educator both in Germany and internationally.
As a wine journalist, I contribute regularly to German and Dutch magazines, and I have my own wine column in the daily newspapers of the DuMont publishing house in Germany.
I regularly carry out workshops for the German Wine Institute on the many facettes of German wine.

The Brandenburger Hof was famous for its unmistakable wine list. This consisted of 1000 items – all of them German wines. The list reflected no less than 400 different Riesling wines from different vineyard sites and vintages. Here I had an opportunity to really delve deeply into the wide spectrum of German wine.

I spent a really carefree time on the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca. The St. Regis Mardavall has several high-class restaurants, enabling me to gain international experience. At the same time I was able to familiarize myself with Spanish wines.
I spent several really important months in the cellars and vineyards of Tuscany. I used the time to travel to practically every corner of Tuscany, and to study the different styles of wine.

It was both a pleasure and an honour to work together with star chef Joachim Wissler in one of the best restaurants in Germany. It was a fantastic experience, and a great education to manage the extensive wine list with the great classics of the world of wine, and to care for them in the cellar.
I was fortunate to be able to assist during the harvest at the famous Schloss Johannisberg estate in the Rheingau region as an intern. I am particularly grateful to the experienced cellar master Gerd Ritter, who taught me a great deal about viticulture and cellar technology. He played a major part in the fact that I successfully completed my theory examination for the Master of Wine certification.
Since 2015 I have been a Master of Wine, one of currently 389 worldwide.

I work as a lecturer at the International Wine Institute in Bad Neuenahr in Germany, where among other duties I help prepare prospective sommeliers for the CCI certification. I lecture in English in both Sweden and the Netherlands within the framework of the internationally renowned WSET system.
